ITINERARY DAY 1

We drive to the small community of Socma, located near to Pomatales gorge. Our journey will begin with a brief visit to the community school to interact with the children. Let's walk! This first day there is a demanding climb of almost 45° and 6 kilometers to the Community of Rayán.
On the way, we will pass by the Perolniyoc waterfall, which stands out for having an archaeological site called Raq'aypata on its top as a natural lookout point, which we will also visit. We will stop for lunch at this site and then continue climbing towards Rayán, where Ernestina and her family will welcome us to camp in their home. Then the rest of the afternoon is free to rest and enjoy the place in the mountains. Dinner with Ernestina's family.

DAY 2

After breakfast, we will begin the ascent to reach our first pass, which will take us 2.3-hours approximately. From this point, the hike is more relaxed because there are no steep climbs; the incomparable landscape of the Vilcanota mountain range welcomes us. Another two hours of hiking between slight climbs and descents until we reach the second pass, from where we will see the sun gate or Intipunku in the distance. From here on, a series of steep zigzags of descent and lose rock awaits us. Finally, a flat stretch leads us to the Sun Gate, but this time we will have a closer view, along with the sunset, the Waqay Willka mountain (sacred tears in Quechua), and the afternoon wind. Finally, another 20 minutes of descent awaits us until we reach our camp, where our team will wait for us.

DAY 3

Waking up in the clouds is an unforgettable sensation. We will have breakfast and start our hike down to the Inca bridge of Ollantaytambo which will take us about three hours. In the middle of the way, the quarry of Qachi Q'ata is waiting for us, from where gigantic stone blocks were extracted to build the Inca city in the mountain of the front, which shows a great social technology developed. Once in the Inca bridge, we will enter to the living Inca town of Ollantaytambo and we will cross its streets that conserve their design from the Inca time. We will stop to have lunch in the restaurant Chuncho whose food is typical but mainly prepared with organic products of local farmers.
