ITINERARY

From Cusco, we will drive to the District of Pisaq in the Sacred Valley at 6 a.m. It will take us almost 2 hours to reach the Community of Paru Paru, also known as the Potato Park because it is the place where the inhabitants of the different surrounding communities grow more than a thousand different varieties of potatoes, as their ancestors used to do more than a thousand years ago.

Our experience begins with a welcome from the people of Paru Paru. Later they will share with us their wisdom and tradition regarding the cultivation of this native product of the Andes. Once the sharing with the masters is over, it is time to leave in direction to Pisaq, an ancient Inca city located at the top of a mountain at 3350 meters of elevation.

The trail begins at 4150 meters with a steep climb to the pass located at 4325 meters, then we will descend to Pisaq, in approximately 3 hours, passing by the Viyacha lagoon and the community of the same name. We will enter Pisaq by passing through the largest Inca cemetery that exists in the region. We will finish our day by visiting the most important sectors of this ancient city. At the end of the visit, our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
