ITINERARY DAY 1

Our experience begins in the Yanahuara district, a small village located in the Sacred Valley. There, the climate is very temperate and peaches grow and white corn production is one of the best.

We will start our trek entering the Mantanay private reserve, space dedicated to the preservation of the forests of queuña (native specie to the Andes), which is the natural habitat of plants, birds, and wild mammals. It will be an unforgettable experience to walk inside the forest feeling and recognizing nature through the senses.

Our team will be accompanied by a small group of porters from Huilloq who will assist us with the logistics and with whom we will share their way of understanding the mountains and the environment. The first day is an ascent that will take us about 4 hours until the 4,000 meters of elevation where we will camp, having the snowy Pumahuanca protecting us.

DAY 2

A hot drink from the hands of our porters will say good morning to a cold morning. After stretching our bodies and having breakfast, a couple more hours of ascent await us until we pass by two lagoons formed by the Pumahuanca snow-capped mountain next to us. The highest point of our hike is above 4600 meters, where our descent begins from the other side of the valley towards the Community of Huilloq. Once there, a group of villagers accompanying Florentina will welcome us to complete our experience by learning about the textile art inherited by our ancestors from time immemorial. Once we finish, the vehicle that will take us back to our hotel will be waiting for us.
