ITINERARY DAY 1

We will leave by car to the Ollantaytambo train station in the Sacred Valley. Once there, we will board the tourist train that goes to Machupicchu. The train will descend through the valley next to the river. We will observe a great difference in the landscape because it is at a lower elevation in a landscape known as the clouded forest, where the temperature and humidity are higher, as well as the vegetation and the presence of wild animals.

After a 1.10-hour train ride, the train will stop briefly for tourists to disembark and walk to Machupicchu. At the government control post, we will show our permits and identifications to pass through, as this is a government-administered trail with a limited number of visitors per day. We will begin our hike by passing through the Chachabamba archeological site, an Inca archaeological complex that served as the administrative center of the state. We will ascend progressively for about 6 km until we reach Wiñaywayna (always young in Quechua language), a beautiful archaeological complex formed by terraces, water fountains, and cultivation areas on the side of the mountain.

We continue our journey, this time between slight ups and downs that lead us to "Intipunku" or "Sungate", from where we will see Machupicchu for the first time. We have another hour of descent left until we reach Machupicchu and contemplate its beauty at sunset before we retire. At the exit of Machupicchu, we will board the bus for a 30-minute drive to Machupicchu Pueblo, a tourist town where we will have dinner and spend the night.

DAY 2

After breakfast, we will leave the hotel at 8 am, to the bus stop that will take us back to Machupicchu. This time we will see that there is more movement of tourists, but we will take a tour that will allow us to enjoy the city avoiding the crowds so that we can understand better how the Quechua people managed to build such a wonderful city and lived in reciprocity with nature. Our visit will last around 3 hours and then we will take the bus back to Machupicchu Pueblo to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the best restaurants in the area before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo and then to your hotel.
