ITINERARY

Departing from Cusco, we go by vehicle to the District of Chinchero where our bike ride begins on a wide dirt road with flat, slightly uphill, and downhill grades that crosses dozens of fields of different plantations.

On the way, we will pass near the Huaypo lagoon, whose landscape is worthy of a cover. Our first destination is the archaeological complex of Moray and it will take us around 2hrs to reach. Moray is an agricultural experimentation laboratory from the Inca era, used for seed adaptation. After our visit, we will go to Maras, a town that dates back to the 17th century, the same one that preserves in its architecture buildings of colonial style. After our visit to Maras, we will have a little more technical descent passing by a narrower path with some more pronounced segments and loose stones that lead us to the Salineras of Maras.

This wonderful attraction, provides pink salt in liquid form from a spring in the mountain, the same that was used since the Incas more than 500 years ago, and continues to provide the local people a source of income to obtain the salt through evaporation and export it to different parts of the world. At the end of our visit, our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to our lodging.
